i've been riding Chorus 11-speed for over a year now on my road bike and have been very happy. now that it's CX season, i've started riding my cross bike with new-style Centaur 10 speed shifters paired with 08 chorus 10 speed dérailleurs. 2 things i've noticed are that the 10 speed is much, much, quieter than the 11 speed- significantly so. i've also noticed that the shifting on the FD is much quicker and crisper - especially going from the lil to the big chain ring. perhaps this is a side effect of using a 46/39 chain ring set-up while on the 11 speed i'm using 53/39 stronglight chain rings rather than standard campy.

anyone care to comment on drive train noise and/or shifting differences?

After I got rid of my Super-Link, my Chorus 11 has been silent as the grave. My 10 speed stuff is, too. The 11 speed is just a bit more finicky to setup and it seems is more sensitive to cable stretch and housing routing/friction than the 10.

Really? The 11-speed is as quiet as the 10? Anyone else?

Probably you chain is getting old.

Could the noise be related to chain install? The campy 11 chain has a right side and left side.

Mine is as quiet as my old 10 speed. I'm using a KMC X11L chain, it seems to be a bit quieter than the Campy chain.

Actually it doesn't have a left/right, like shimano.

We have a SR demo bike, a Chorus bike, A Centaur bike and Veloce bike and all are quiet.

my [chorus] 11-sp drivetrain is silent as can be. running a stock campy chain.

no, it's a new build. probably only 500 miles on the chain. it does quiet a bit when i lube it, but it's no where near as quiet as my chorus 10. it very noticeable when i ride them back to back. again, perhaps it's the stronglight chainrings.

I installed a 9 speed el cheapo compact crankset on my otherwise 10 speed Campy Record setup. It was noisy as hell and didn't function as well as I would have liked. I didn't realize just how noisy it was until I switched it out for a 53/39 FSA 10 sp crank and rings.
