Canti pad compounds n rim material

So im building a cross.

Im not a huge fan of cantibrakes but i have them so im gonna make the best of it.

Wich pad is best for winter (snow rain crap conditions) on alu rims ?
Wich pad is best for winter (snow rain crap conditions) on carbon rims?

Wich of alu with best pad vs carbon with best pad has the best braking (reliable and stopping power) ?


Ive used carbon rims with swiss stop yellows in the past wich were okay i guess but hardly great

Ive used alu rims with unknown pad and it was dangerous to ride in traffic.

Tell me your experince, what would you choose?

I like Kool Stop Salmons for everything but carbon.

Yeah thats what i keep hearing. Can you compare them to swiss stop yellows on carbon?
