Let's get his party started in here...

Where'd ya ride today?

No ride. Still hung over from the Rangers ALCS party. Heading to the NM high country for a week of crisp cool fall rides and of course watching the World Series.

Whats a baseball fan to do?

Like Nolan Ryan(don't like seeing Dubya tho) but also like Tony, Holliday(former Rockie) and Lance Berkman. Really happy to see Brewers bubble their way to a loss. Like underdogs, would have liked to see Leyland's Tigers make it but.......

Since my hometown Cleveland ain't there..probably like the American League team.

I just got back from a ~2 hour, post-work 40 miles ride...rural NC roads (as usual). Unusually warm...near record highs, I think. (Garmin is reporting an average of 83 degrees, 4PM-6PM) Need to stop planning my rides around the wind...rode mostly in to it on the way out, but by the time I turned so that it was at my back, it had mostly died down. Oh well.

another after work ride, 35 miles and get home to help with dinner. Beauty of a day, low 60s and sunny, but wind was the theme, why is it always a headwind?

15-20 mph wind with 30 mph gusts here... so just a short 22 mile hilly loop with a buddy after work.

Good to get out though! The days are counting down up here in the North.

Bugged out of work 15 minutes early and we got the road part done before darkness and got onto the local bike trail with lights. The sun drops like a rock here now and the temps seem to drop just as fast as soon as the sun goes down. 31.66 miles . . .

I had a great 20 mile hill workout right before dark. It was amazing weather here this evening. About 64ºF, low humidity and changing leaves.

Had a lovely ride up Mt. Diablo with my step-bro yesterday, then flew home to Seattle. This morning I set out to do three laps around the 'hood. It was the first time I have done it with my Garmin and discovered that each six mile lap is good for 450 ft. of climbing. Beautiful (if cool) morning. going for 25 with a buddy tomorrow.

but I got super lucky and found a case of Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA which is like finding a gold mine. I was able to get 8 4 packs and it was worth not riding for. Beer at my house if anyone's around.

I was off Monday and it was a slow day at home so I went a bit further on my ride re-visiting the route that thinpin and I did back in June. The weather as usual was perfect; 60-70s range, low traffic, big green pastures, rows of vineyards, coastal scenery, fast descent, steep climbs, it's got everything!
I did about 45 miles, hard to believe I have such nice riding literally out my back door.

First I had to get over Arthurs Seat in order to cross to the other side, rode over the road graffiti left behind from Jayco race, some of them were really funny, too bad I didn't take any pictures of them, too busy staying upright. :D Actually, it was fine, I was going at my own pace, spinning at 34-34. :p

Saw a fox on the road, by the time I took my camera out, nowhere to be found, so I took pic of the cows and horses instead.

I need to know: What is a vanilla slice?

Amazing landscape there - love those vineyards! What an adventure you've got going on. Nicely done. :)

No pics from my ride today but it's a shame I didn't have my camera along because we had a spectacular evening with soft, golden light illuminating the valley floor. I did the standard dirt road loop on the cross bike. There were tons of deer of all sizes from huge bucks down to little young ones. These are mule deer which are not very skittish so it's fun to ride around them.

karin-pal, I found a pic on Google. I aint going near that thing with a ten-foot pole. but if it's coated in chocolate, that's a whole diff. deal. weak. :o

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds yummy to me and I agree if it were chocolate it'd be a whole 'nother level of goodness.

I was hoping to do a night time ride on the rail to trail that's a block from my house. By the time I was ready to start, a cold front came through and dumped an inch of rain. Now, windy and cool. I'm loving it. I'll ride tomorrow a.m.

The vanilla slice looks like it could power a city. How many calories in that thing? Is that Fred Flinstone holding it; only he could eat that by himself.

If you're from Dallas, you picked the wrong week to be out of town. Great weather came behind the front that went through last night.
