80's / 90's cross frame suggestions pls

Being Suntourguy on this forum not withstanding I almost never ride my suntour stuff since I bought the Madone. But I do have a really nice nos grouppo that I'd like to install on a vintage cross frame. I'd be grateful for your suggestions. My first preference might be ( at least at this moment ) alloy but I love steel too.

Get a screwed and glued AlAn. Nobody won more cross races in the 80's than them.
