Maybe I am just really tired after a long day at work, but this bike, ad, components, the way the text reads, etc, looks very familiar....Am I wrong?

Thanks,

No you're not wrong, just not right. It's a different Ottrott but posed in an identical way on the same background as this Ottrott offered for sale in the forum classified section: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=9719 The two bikes appear to have the same build components. Strange.

Steve,

It does look familiar. Many of us forum members live in the Bay area. If you wanted to buy it, someone could go to Menlo park and make sure it exists and even have it shipped to you. I live about 90 miles from Menlo Park, but have a good friend in the area that I owe a visit. Something could be worked out.

Ebay listing says:

"I paid just under $11,000 for the bike less than two months ago, and the bike took several months to make. This bike is incredible to ride and is an absolute work of art to look at. I am only selling, because I am starting a company and need the money. Frankly, it pains me to have to sell it so soon after I bought it."

If it is Ali who is selling this one I hope he has better luck timing his cash flow in the company than he does with his bike purchases...

That's the bike which was being sold in London at the beginning of the month.

Compare the images and text to the latest ad.

Ali seems to be working his scam again on Ebay, the classified, and probably a number of other sites as well. Does anyone recognize the images he is using?

I rote to the buyer to see if I can do a local pick up. He hasnt written back as yet...I think its a scam! But, it could be identity theft too. And yes, it is the same ad as the one in London.....Only, that one the guy had no feedback and made it a private auction...Very strange indeed!

PS: Buyer beware!!!

Ali wrote back, told me that yes, he has 2 Ottrott's for sale and he will not sell the black one for less than 8500.00. I proceeded to explain to him that he needs to revamp his ebay auction then as it starts at 5000.00 with no reserve.

We shall see.

BTW, at 8500.00 you could buy that bike with money left over, brand new and custom.

Interesting. I thought that the black one was sold in London on July 8th for $3,581.00 but here it is in the good old USA once again on Ebay. I'd advise you to avoid this guy like the plague or get both serial numbers off of the two bikes and contact Serotta. Odds are he stole the images.
