I need a new fork for my green, steel-lugged Rapid Tour. Will need to have at least eyelets for fenders. Any suggestions? Color would need to match up with the bike's green color so am thinking green, black or chrome. Use this bike for long distance riding only. The one in there now is the RT Classic steel fork and needs to be replaced. It is a 1" threaded fork with campy headset installed. Thanks.

I cannot imagine that you could do better than a new Serotta Fork, They are making a variety of different specs in Carbon Fiber right now. I suggest calling up and letting them know exactly how you want it to perform and let the Wizards do what they do.

Unless you're looking for some weight savings, I'd stick with a steel fork.

Surly Crosscheck fork looks like a less expensive but useful option.

There are many smaller builders that would be more than willing to build a replacement fork for you at a reasonable price.

I'd guess that the Rapid Tour fork will have less than generic specs so I think it would be better to avoid off the shelf replacements.

I recommend you post your question over at the Velocipede Salon (http://www.velocipedesalon.com/forum/forum.php) forum or contact any of the builders who post in the Friday Night Lights sub-forum.

Of course, in order to duplicate your original fork, it would be a great help if you still have the Rapid Tour's fork available.

universal cycles. Awesome number of forks in any configuration you want.
Plus the ads show weight, material, rake, steerer type, clearance, etc. All the info is there

I'd contact Bedford, Kirk or Wages ...

Theses are the guys who built the original steel forks.
