I was riding with someone else here on the board and he got a ticket for riding outside the bike lane...I was in the bike lane. there were four of us, and two got tickets. it was about 9 in the morning and there were no other cars on the road. well, to make a long story short, he went to court and the officer showed up...cross exam on the stand and because the officer was not prepared, the judge dismissed the tickets.

Riding in the city is a pain in the arse. You are better off going to 9w ride over GW bridge.

On a side note:
That being said I love riding over some of the lesser known bridges like the Marine Parkway Bridge (Far Rockaway into Brooklyn).

Way off topic:
I rode this bridge several times this summer. We had maybe 3 days where
it was in the 90's the whole year. As a person who hates
3H days (hot, hazy, humid), I love the weather at Long Beach, Atlantic
Beach, Rockaway in the summer. It feels completely different than
Manhattan.

Pretty sure most riders in the city are commuting, not out enjoying a ride.
