My wife's bike has Dura Ace 7800 groupo... the brifters are a bit of a reach for her... My question.. can I just swap the DA 7800 brifters for Shimano ST-R700 and keep all the rest DA?

thanks for any/all responses

Yep, 105(5700/3) and Ultegra(6700/3) also have reach adjust. 7900 does too but then ya need a new FD and no triple option.

Thanks very much.. that's what I was hoping.. I will also look into shimming the 7800s first

My wife's bike has the short reach (R700) ones.. AFAICT it's not just the lever reach, the hood itself is smaller & has shorter reach, so if you have small hands they are still going to be better then shimmed/adjusted Ultegra/DA brifters..

They are enough smaller that it feels extremely odd to me if I hop on her bike to test it after working on it.
