i'm looking to build up a set of CX hubs- (20 x 24 -Campy hub). does anyone have a recommendation for something relatively cheap, but great quality for the $. it doesn't have to be too cheap. i'll spend the money if they are worth it and have the wheels do double duty on the road as well.

I'm assuming you're looking to build a cx wheel and looking for campy cassette body. the question is what do you consider cheap? are you looking for a cx race wheel? tubular? a lot guys like tubular so you won't get pinch flats. ok, so how about this: http://www.williamscycling.com/cyclocross_tubular.html
that price seems pretty good...and it comes in a campy hub.

I have a set of DT Swiss rims already, I just need the hubs. I am going with clinchers for a practice and back up wheel set. Thanks.

I've always liked classic Shimano hubs and they are easy to maintain. You can find complete wheelsets for close to nothing.

Another option for built wheels cheap is Neuvation:

I've had M28Aeros in my Moots for several years of hard riding on MTB trails without a need to true or any problems. Clincher and tubulars are available.
