As you may remember I was in an auto wreck last month and well... things aren't going well at all. I am not a big believer in everyone wanting to sue everyone else, however I am really in a position that I need to look at my options. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time!

As a lawyer who handles civil cases, I recommend--what else?--that you consult a lawyer. Some plaintiff's lawyers offer a free one-hour consultation and many handle cases on a contingent fee basis. If you just want to know your rights, paying a lawyer for a one-hour consultation can be economical and cost-effective. The local bar organization can provide you with the names of plaintiff's attorneys, but my preference is to get recommendations from local lawyers. If you know a local litigator or know someone who does, I'd ask them for some names. Good luck.

Try contacting your states Bar Association. In a few states I've lived in, they provide a free consultation where you can speak with a lawyer about your "case".. and hopefully you can feel a bit more confident in how to proceed, before investing financially.

Good Luck.

Just noticed you are in AZ. Try one of the county Bar Associations:

http://maricopalawyers.org/

http://www.pimacountybar.org/web/lawyer-referral-service-lrs

Both offer a low cost consultation. ($35-$40, possibly free for personal injury in Maricopa County)

In RI it's free, that's what I was referring to in my previous post.

You guys rule! Thanks so very much! Even though things are so low here and I am unable to do pretty much anything fun, at least being part of this forum is highly uplifting. I apoligize, I realized in hindsight I forgot to add my location lol.

Listen to harlond.....I got hit in 2002, from behind, while riding, by a pickup truck. The 'adventure' with her insurance company was painful, even with a lawyer. DO NOT deal with any insurance company or the person that caused this by yourself. Get a lawyer.
