Could you take the 18T cog used in the 14-23 junior cassette and lose the 13T cog in the 13-29 to make a 14-29 Campagnolo 10spd cassette?

14-15-15-16-17-18-19-21/23-26/29

any issues shifting in and out of the 18?

I looked at 11 speed for a new build but I never use the 12T rarely use the 13T so can easily live without it. A 14-29 10spd would give me more useful gears then the 12-29 11spd with less maintenance and tuning.

Dont see why it should not work... but if i read right u are talking about an 11 speed cassette, those cogs are thinner, wonder what chain are u going to use. Since campagnolo allows you to do many weird things there is a big chance that it should work fine. Try it and let us know, I'm like you, I never go lower 14 or 15, 12 and 13 even the 14 cog is useless for me now that i'm old.

14(of the 13-29) is not a first position so also use the 14t first position of the 14-23.

Since you are adding a 18 instead of taking a cog out(which can be problematic) it should work fine.

The 14-23 is a 10s cogset, yes?

You can make a loose cog 14-23 and a 13-29 10's cassette into a 14-29. Ones I own (Veloce) have 3 different width spacers. Make sure you put them correct place.

Also.....use the 19 from the 14-23....it's designed to follow a 18. (One in 13-29 is designd to follow a 17.)

Obviously.....use the 14 from the 14-23.

Thanks. Yes I'm talking about 10 speed. 10 speed seems to give more gearing flexibility at this point.

I could take the 14-23 junior and just swap out the the big 4 cogs

14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23 becomes 14,15,16,17,18,19, 21,23,26,29

likely to notice any difference in the smoothness of shift from 19 to 20 versus 19 to 21?

Another related question. Any difference in shaping of last gen Chorus and Record 10 speed cogs and current Centaur. Better to mix and match from Centaur or doesn't matter?

Keep the spacer from the junior cassette after 19T cog? or use spacer from the 13-29 cassette?

Use the 21 from the 13-29. It's designed to follow a 19.

Yes, but with ramps and pins chainrings come in pairs. 50/34 is about all that is available. There are cross sets at 46/36 but the 50/34 with 14/26 or 14/29 is perfect for my needs. Actually 13/26 13/29 would be OK but if I can have 14/29 I'll take it.

I sell individual rings. The whole chainring 'matching' gig is vastly overplayed, doesn't really mean anything.
