In the future, my goal is to get a coupler bike. It comes apart in two pieces and allows you to travel with your bike more easily. It’s becoming more and more popular from what I’ve seen within the cycling community. It’s a pretty large financial investment but I think it would be worthwhile if I want to ride in more cities.

His 2011 salary is $5,750,000.

His 2011 salary is $5,750,000. :rolleyes:He's paid what the market allows, and frankly, even with a large salary, describing a bicycle that might cost $3000-5000 as "large financial investment" on a non-cycling specific blog doesn't seem unreasonable. Sure, it's not a Ferrari, but it isn't chump change, either.

I saw a special once about Joe Madden, manager of the Rays, he has a travel bike (bike friday maybe) that he travels with everywhere.

an article on it.

He's just riding a few miles around the city. A new Dahon doesn't cost close to $3,000.

Lots of race car drivers ride and/or compete on bicycles. NASCAR driver Carl Edwards and Indy driver Paul Tracy comes to mind.

Some say Edwards is strong enough to seriously race. I don't doubt it with how for hours at a time, he has to handle a 850 horsepower 4,000-pound stock car.

Wait; is he a bike rider or a cyclist? ;)

Could you imagine riding with Paul Tracey?? After listening to him be-little Tanner Foust on battle of the super cars, I think I would probably fall off my bike, LMAO during a ride!!
Cool to hear that these guys ride a bike as well as drive some mean cars, both of which are big pluses in my book!

Other rider/racers who come to mind are Michael Schumacher, Emerson Fittipaldi and Hans Stuck.

Cycling is one of the more favored training methods for race car drivers. It's done for the endurance and weight control.

I mean, to drive like this (http://youtu.be/YmzQS-ymK8I) Hans has to be in some sort of endurance shape.

Zdeno Chara (Bruins hockey player) has been quoted a number of times about his love of cycling -- rode his bike to the Stanley Cup parade ;)
