I recently purchased a used "Colorado Concept", frame number at the bottom bracket is TL5600204. It is pre 2002.

I would like to bring the bike back to original "Serotta"configuration or as close to what it might have been as I can.

Can anyone tell me the following:

1. front and rear spacing
2. cogs in cassette, brand and model of cassette.
3. rear and front derailleur brand and specs.
4. type of down tube shifters.
5. bottom bracket, crank & chain ring brand and specs.

The chances are that your bike was sold as a 'frame set' (frame & fork) and then built up by either the dealer or customer, so I would say there is no "correct" components other than what was available at the time of frame manufacture.

I would posit that your bike would have been built with top-end stuff from Shimano or more likely Campagnolo.

Front and rear spacing would be modern standards; 100mm front and 130 mm rear.

Could the serial # really be TI rather than TL? If so I guess it's a Legend, right?

It is definitely TL. Thanks to all for the info.

The Colorado Concept model was only built 2 years, I believe: 1989 and 1990. Since yours has the 2 letter serial number code, it's a 1990. It would be great to put 7400, Record or Chorus on it.

I'd love to see some pics of your frame.

That's a TG, not a Colorado Concept. I'm not sure what year they started building the Legend TG. The predecessor was the Colorado TG, built from 1992 to 1995, but is called simply Serotta TG in the 1995 catalog.

I associate the side entry internal cable routing with the CR and CRL circa 1994, while the later CSI has split cable stops. The 1994 catalog says the TG had split cable stops that year.

I think its '92-94 ish and the Legend name reflects a special version or something. All the features, cable routing, unicrown fork, serial number, suggest a normal TG.

I had it narrowed down to only 2 possible years, 1993 and 1997. Then I remembered that 1993 Serottas are listed on Bikepedia. Sure enough, it was listed there as Colorado Legend TG. They show it equipped with full Veloce Ergopower, Open 4 CD rims, American Classic post, TTT Synthesis stem and Forma bar, and San Marco Accaiao saddle.

Bikepedia lists 7 Serotta models in 1993: T Max, Colorado Legend AT, Colorado Legend TG, Colorado Legend Ti, Colorado Legend CR, Colorado Legend CRL, and Colorado Legend Tri.

1993 was evidently the year of Legends. Interestingly, the name was completely dropped in 1994. It reappeared on the Ti for certain in 1998. It could have been used in 1997 as well, but the 1997 catalog doesn't show any of the current models.
