Hello
I would like to build a data based of the bikes, parts and goods related to cycling and bicycles on the model of what is done to rate fish theirs conditions of production : A socially responsible database of cycling goods.
The base will list:
- country of origin and manufacturing
- laws and regulations enforced in the country
- company governance
- financial structure ( independent, self owned, private, public, financial institution as SRAM today for example)
- environmental policy and actions
- ... (open to any ideas on relevant criterions)
The goal is to help every of us to make better choices not only base on technical performances.
All of us value cycling but also the environment in which we can practice it.
It is also why we love Serotta and others small builders because they have an identity.
We value nature as it is our stadium.
We value social relation and solidarity human values.
We care about solidarity not about social status : when you get a flat and need help every body can help and do, when you crash you never ask at whom belong the hand is hang over to you to help.
So...
I will be the secretary doing the labor but I will need help from all of you.
