I have an 07 record FD and an 06 centaur FD. Of course the record FD limit screw over the years has started to strip... i dont use the 06, can i just pull a limit screw from the 06 and use it on the 07?

It appears that the limits screws are the same length and should work without issue, i just wanted to double check before i pull it out..

sorry for the lame question, seems obvious, but i just wanted to doublecheck.

thanks!

I believe so, either way after the 1st turn u will notice if it works or not. All these years and I still dont understand why do not use allen screws instead of those pretty bad philips kind'a ones.

Fairwheel has or had some upgrades for those screws in Ti and allen heads.

Yep. Interchangeable.

The worst example of this I've seen is the aluminum screws on 7700 DuraAce FD's.... not the place to save a few grams...

Yes. If you take the spring load off the screws when adjusting them (by holding the derailleur cage) will make it harder to strip the heads.

thanks all... i figured they were the same... i actually bought the record fd used and it was partially stripped, hence the issues i've had...

i'll pull the centaur screw and use that...

as an aside... anyone know if your local hardware store carries bolts in that size? home depot/lowes? imagine they might, never checked...

thanks again...

I believe those screws are M2... milimetric... home depot should have some. What u can do is just go with the stripped one to the shop then use the samples thingis that are around to find out what it is but it should be something like an M2 screw
