no matter what your political persuasion, I have the feeling Stephen Colbert will be a player in the 2012 election. If nothing else, he will call attention to the absurdity of campaign financing and that could be a game changer.

now even a comedian can compete with the likes of Sarah Palin. let the games begin.

no hard feelings if this thread needs to be closed sooner than later :).

The only thing that I can say is that the Colbert Report has FAR eclipsed the Daily Show...

Viva Colbert!!!

I disagree. I find Colbert's show is like watching a train wreck. Stewart is much more calm and collected in his thoughts, and seems like a genuinely intelligent individual. Colbert's rhetoric is all scripted, and his delivery is sometimes painful.

Colbert is much more about making a splash though, which is why you see him doing more publicity stunts. Stewart likes his position in the world being a backroom pundit.

Steven Colbert is pretty damn brilliant. Not just his show but the man can think on his feet. He could have been a great politician or news anchor but he is too smart for either of those jobs.

Who would get worked up by an entertainer? That would be just as silly as somebody getting worked up over Rush or Beck...

No matter how you try to change campaign finance laws, politicians will find a way to game the new rules. That is what politicians are very good at.

For the 2012 presidential election cycle, the republican and democratic candidate will each spend over 1 billion. Outside of the money that they spend, you will have the 'independent' Superpac money which can spend unlimited sums against or for a candidate. In previous presidential elections, the propaganda commercials have been bad, but this cycle, we will probably explore new levels of depravity. Throw in the superpac money for senate and congressional seats, and it will be pretty ugly.

Both parties will be responsible for this. buckle your seatbelts and keep arms inside the cabin

Stephen Colbert, a racing driver for 15 years, a race car engineer for 7 of those years and also a driver coach to many of the current professional drivers. As with any serious motorsport career, fitness plays a large part in any success. Having pounded the streets and gyms for many years, I found the world of cycling a much needed break from the norm, the ability to go further, see more of the country and keep inshape at the same time was very appealing.

After a few years combining two wheels with four I began to look at the possibility of producing a bike range where all the same riding qualities where used, yet given a few twists. With my motorsport connections and then the world of Formula 1 having its love affair with Carbon Fibre, why not tap into this source for technical help / design ideas etc. Colbert Cycles was born and with 5 years under its belt in producing / building and helping cyclists from all walks of life get the most from a bicycle, I now have a range of frames and components available to the world. I believe passion for cycling goes a long way and here at Colbert Cycles I can offer a personal service with a helpful and speedy aftersales care. The difference in emailing or picking up the phone to Colbert Cycles is that you get to speak with Stephen Colbert.
