Huh? Sounds like a logistical nightmare to pull off if they do it.

Do a stage in the Middle East....during the sweltering summer....then fly everyone back to France? Is this good relations.....or just money talking?

After Qatar BOUGHT the World Cup, its all about the Benjamins. Didnt the Giro look into having a start near D.C. and they said it doesnt make sense with the travel? No effin way that makes a lick of sense.

ASO follows the money.

i just cannot see any connection between the History of the tour and Qatar.

I have a better idea: Have each stage in a separate country and call it Tour d' World.

I think that the 2013 Tour should start in Elba, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Napoleon being exiled there.

It's called the Tour de France. Keep it related to France.

+1 - every city around the world is interested in hosting a stage, but it's just logistically impossible.
