I haven't ridden it yet, just finished setting it up. It might need some further alterations, but this should do for now. I present to you, my new to me Primato!

It would look better with gumwalls.

What do you think, Silca?

Nah... With the black saddle, hoods, and bottle caps...I think the blackwalls look good. I do think that the Conti GP4000 "brown" sidewalls looks pretty decent on this vintage of bike as well, FWIW.

Leave it simple without the Silca...black Acorn tubular bag and a Lezyne or Airbone pump.

Alternatively, tan acorn bag and "gumwalls"...

Aaron, no gumwalls. I tried that look on my red Primato. It lasted about long enough to pull the tires off the rims.

Now go ride the snot out of it ;)

Aaron, I think you will like those Conti 4000 tubies. If not, I know where you could dispose of them. ;)

I'm too too jealous! Looks great! Did you try the white Regal on it?

Ahem, the white Regal doesn't fit his butt as well as it fits mine. Only problem is, I don't have a bike that is in need of a white Regal at the moment., but I don't have a white spare, either.

Back on topic, I have found the older Girardi's, like is on the bike, to be more comfortable than the newer models. They seem to have a bit more padding. I think the dimensions are the same, though.

Yeah - that white regal really wasn't a good match. Zmud is absolutely right - this is softer and it might actually work. Time will tell - I took it out for about 15 miles and surrendered to the heat, but the saddle didn't bug me. I liked the tires!!

Aaron...congrats on your new ride. Seeing the rest of your collection, it looks like it will fit right in.

I've been lucky - though truthfully all i need is the Marnati and the Koga-Miyata.

Forgive my impertinence but that's what bikes are supposed to look like.

Well done.

Very nice. Are those 8 speed shifters? I have some 10 speed shifters like that. Love them. (I'm just guessing it's not 10 speed after the looks of your cassette)

Good eye Martin - it's 8sp. I actually really like the 8sp ergo, I have it on my Merckx and used to have it on my departed De Rosa SLX. It's nowhere near as smooth as the 11sp, but I like the 8 better than the 9sp.

The Merckx has never been my favorite rider, but I can't get rid of it because of its provenance.

Your bike stable is full of gorgeous bikes. We should go for a ride around these Philly parts soon.
