So does one such thing exist?

I'd like to find a "cycling t-shirt" made of breathable material, not a loose fit, maybe with rear pockets? I know it may sound like a jersey but no, something a bit more relaxed or casual for commuting or when you want to ride without looking like a racer...

Ideas? :)

There's a huge range of "plain colored" jerseys, from Assos stuff, some of which IMO looks more like a polo shirt than a cycling jersey, all the way down to $20 mono-color Nashbar jerseys.

You might look into mountain bike jerseys, which would seem to fit your bill.

the bamboo & wool t-shirts are excellent. the hiding hoodie is also quite good.

Sombrio JT jersey is slimmer fitting and can be had in plain design (http://www.hucknroll.com/sombrio-jt-classic-jersey-short-sleeve-mens) - but no pocket.

...for a little more, http://shop.outlier.cc/shop/retail/ultrafine-merino-tee.html

ibex, smartwool, icebreaker also have ultrafine wool t-shirts w/ a performance design.

Swobo has a nice merino t-shirt, both crew next and with a zipper, but no pockets.

MEC just came out with a shirt like you described... sort of. Not sure about the fit/cut however.

Levi's just announced/launched a line of cycling wear aimed at the urban/fixie community. There might be some stuff in their collection that would fit the bill.

Other than Bicycle Revolutions in Philadelphia I do not know who is carrying it as it is literally brand new stuff.

I have one the nashbar (I think) cycling t-shirts. I find that stuff in the back pocket causes a small but somewhat annoying tug on my neck. The zipper front of a jersey solves this problem.

PGA Tour golf shirts...basically synthetic polo shirts, mostly solid colors with a few accents thrown in but nothing that looks weird. A little nicer looking since it has a collar, you can't even really see the PGA logo on the sleeve, and Costco had them for like $9.

Hey everyone this is an old post but coincidently we just came out with a cycling polo specifically to perform on a bike. It works much like a cycling jersey but looks nothing like. its definitely one of my favorite products. Thanks
