I have a couple friends riding STP this year, I wish I was able to join them.

I have ridden this and can say there are _way_ better rides in Washington state. Most of the 200+ miles are non-descript and flat. Typically there are way, way too many people on the road that obviously don't ride that often, which means craziness and falling.
It is an institution, though. When a non-cyclist finds out you ride the first question they (almost always) ask is: Have you done STP?
Anyways, I'm not trying to be an elitist downer-deb. It's just that this ride is very underwhelming. It's main feature is that it's long.
