Does this work? With a mix of 10 and 11 speed equipment, was hoping to standardize spare parts at least with regard to the chain.

I know from experience that 11 speed chains (Campy and KMC) work with 10 speed cranksets (Campy and Shimano). Not sure about the other parts.

it might work, but it wont shift as well with a 10-sp cassette in the back. add to that how damned expensive 11-sp chains are, i would just stick to much cheaper 10-sp chains.

my rule is always match the chain to the rear cassette (# of speeds)

I stick to KMC x11L chains from Ribble, around $35. They shift just as smooth, if not better than Campy Chorus and Record chains.
