Hey peeps,

Any of you have experience building up record hubs 32H with Hed C2 clincher rims. How did they build? What spokes and pattern did you use? What was your first impression?

Thanks in advance!

I used 32 hole black record hubs 3x with black wheelsmith spokes and black brass nipples built for me by our own Echalon John. I liked my first pair so much for my CX bike I got a second for my second CX/dirtroad frame. Now I'm considering another pair for my road frame. I really like them, strong but with great road feel, and I like the profile of the 25 tires on the wider rims (I've used Conti 4000s and Schwalbe Ultremos).

Thanks for the reply!

I am wondering if anyone has compaired the HED c2's to the Velocity A23 rims?

i have the hed ardennes and love them. i was thinking about building another set of wheels and thought i read somewhere that when comparing the c2's to the a23's that the c2's are welded at the joint and the a23's are glued. can't remember where i read it but you may want to do some research.

I have silver Record 32s laced three cross to C2s with CXrays and they're fantastic. So far they only have maybe 1000 miles but I have zero complaints.

HED vs Velocity has been talked about. You should be able to search for it I think
