Today's ride was up Independence Pass from Aspen. Absolutely gorgeous. 40 miles round trip and 4,250 feet up.

I tried to do this ride yesterday and about halfway up a thunderstorm came over the ridge and I could see lightning bolts striking the tops of the peaks. I turned around and rode back down fast. Not before getting pelted by a mix of rain and hail.

Marmots (whistle pigs). Although I think groundhogs and marmots are pretty much the same thing, just live in different places.

Thanks for sharing those awesome pics. Man, I still miss Colorado, even though it's hard to complain here in NorCal. Well, it would be hard to complain were I actually in NorCal. Instead, I'm in Northeast Ohio, where I've been doing hill repeats in one of the Metroparks for the past couple of weeks.
