Poll: temporary bar tape repair?

I know, I know, I should just re-wrap the bars right now...

But until such time that I get around to doing that: Is there a preferred temporary bar tape repair medium? I shredded some bar tape doing a recent low-speed gravity-challenged maneuver, want to do something to keep the frayed ends from further fraying and/or reminding me constantly of my Act Of Stupidity.

If black tape, get some 3M friction tape. Non-shiny, has a fabric feel to it, provides enough grip.

I need constant reminders of my acts of stupidity in order to not do them again so I would tend to leave the wrap alone and make up a story of how it happened.
cotton bar tape or cotton ice hockey grip tape would be a good temp fix.
