(I do already have a Riv Atlantis for touring/commuting and want a faster 'relaxed sport geo' for faster club rides/centuries etc.)
i just came across a 2000 model, with only 1000 miles on it, has ultegra hubs/crank and sti brakes/levers...mavic ma2 rims...for $1150
looks in great shape but for one nick on toptube.
i realize this model is no longer offered in stock but that one can still order it custom...so given steel's advancement over the past 10 yrs, would a custom 2011 rapid tour really offer that much of a ride difference (the 2000 model offered to me is pretty much bang on for my measurements, give or take a cm)?
at the very least, is my reasoning, i could try this out and find better what i'm seeking should i do perhaps next yr splurge for a custom sport geo'd bike.
would enjoy getting people's impressions of this model, too, should you have owned it or still ride it.
