Hey everyone,
I recently bought a custom track frame and the build told me it was made with Columbus PS tubing. Does anyone know anything about this tubing? He said it was rare but i didn't get a reason why.

Thanks

Columbus PS is the same as Columbus SP, with stouter chainstays (24 mm vs. 22.2 mm), used for track sprint frames.

I don't know much about it, but here is a link to Columbus tubing descriptions:

http://www.equusbicycle.com/bike/columbus/columbuschart.htm

Columbus SP
Heavy-duty, high-performance set, especially recommended for large frames. Double-butted tubing. Cold-rolled fork blades.

Got pics of the frame?

the fork blades were 24mm (by request); the chain stays were always 22mm atmo.

I will be posting pictures soon. I only have one bad photo as of now. It is an Andy Gilmour track frame.

well - that's nice.
there were no such items then as a 24mm sized chain stay.
the b.b. ports for all the O.D.s of the parts were 22.2mm atmo.
some, but not all, PS parts had an enlarged section after they left the shell.
it was all based on how they were ordered from columbo.

Can you post a photo of the chainstay bulge exiting the BB shell?

I have a bike that might be partly/all PS, but can't be sure since there's no decal.

thanks.
