..as delicious as they sound? I have multiple food allergies so finding an energy bar that is workable takes well, work. I have been sticking to Clif brownie and chocolate chip so far but a change of flavors would be nice.

i think they're pretty tasty...i prefer the vanilla to the honey flavor

they're pretty moist...the only complaint i have is that the packaging kinda stinks...hard to open one handed and the waffle tends to crumble

you can get them on amazon now so pretty convenient esp if you have a prime membership

Yeah they are quite good, a nice break from eating gel. They are almost a bit too good though. :)

SO GOOD.

They're more like cookies than waffles. It's hard to eat just one.

Love them. Their my go to fuel source for off road rides up to 7 hours without any issues.

I've tried the Stroopwafels from Trader Joe's and their quite different and not nearly as good tasting. Cheaper doesn't always mean a deal. :)

I think the Trader Joe's version is just about as tasty and they are a better size for on the bike consumption. I toss a few in my jersey pocket on longer rides.. They are not as soft as the Honey Stingers but are still pretty soft.

These waffles are the best I have tried. The HStingers are quite gritty I find, and not that nice when they get really hot. Plus, the HStingers are priced at quite a premium to the other alternatives.

$6 for a waffle?? I would have to sell a wheelset to keep riding!

I have food allergies as well. I like Cliff natural (?) bars, balance bars, jelly belly, cliff shots, honey stinger chews and cliff blocks. I think that right now, there are more good choices than there ever was.

I got some to test out from the local REI last week. I had the vanilla on a ride and it was pretty great but the packaging was a bit excessive. Luckily my waffle didn't get too crunched up.

I know many on here are fans of REI and I will say so am I. Even if you are not a member you get 20% off if you buy more than 12 of any nutrition items. I bought 12 waffles and 2 NUUN tablet packs for $23.00.

I've been using honey to replace a lot of other sweets on a ride. the waffles do taste more like a dessert compared to other bars. plus they are perfect size for a jersey pocket.

After reading this thread I bought some at REI last week. They are very good...however I sort felt like I was eating pastry or cookie rather than something that was healthy for me. And yes, even standing in my kitchen I could barely get the darn thing open...no way you can do it while riding that's for sure.

I had two on the ride this morning. First one was a wrestling match to open and my waffle was in bits. Second one opened exactly as it should. I was so surprised I almost crashed.

Between yesterday and today I consumed 8 waffles and I must say that even after the 8th one they taste damn good. No gastric issues at all and I didn't have any spikes in hunger that I sometimes get when I'm on the trail longer than 5 hours.

Last big training weekend before the High Cascades 100 on the 23rd. I'm really trying to narrow down my nutrition needs and I'm really happy with the stingers. 11 hours this weekend on my 29er single speed Black Sheep rigid.

I've been eating these for a few months and I also get hung up on the wrappers at times. Actually I've been finding myself drifting towards the Honey Stinger brand. Their stuff is a nice break from Clif/GU/Jelly Belly/Powerbar.

I find it much easier to quickly choke down a waffle than a whole pack of Chomps or similar gummy things.

Too bad the wrappers aren't easily recyclable.

Might just be me but they'e so sweet I can't tell the difference between the vanilla and orig flavors.

It's probably easier to eat on the trail(stopped) as it's harder to ride one handed as it is on the road. Sh$t flat out works. I'm planning on 6-8 for the High Cascades 100.

This may seem really obvious, but when I'm going on a ride where I know I will consume a certain number of the waffles, I'll break them out of their packaging before the ride and lightly wrap each in plastic wrap. They then become extremely easy to eat while riding, and you have much less wrapper to carry out.

I also have been experimenting with this recipe (and a few others), and have been really pleased with the results.
http://www.livestrong.com/recipes/whole-wheat-agave-waffles/
I use an organic version of Eggbeaters, and have made them with & without additional flavorings/spices. I particularly like the agave as the sweetener versus the sugar/honey combo in the Stingers.

Same idea as a Kellogg's Pop Tart yet from a natural company. If you have one you'll never be able to have the Kellogg's cardboard version again:
http://www.naturespath.com/products/toaster%20pastries
Also if you kids like the Kellogg's these are better for them and they won't know that they are eating a better product.

Couldn't agree more about the packaging. It's gotten to the point where I'll just wait for a rest top to eat one. I've almost crashed numerous times trying to get that thing open and not crumble in my lap! The vanilla one is better for sure...
