I know there's not a huge MTB crowd here, but I need to make the switch before my Eggbeaters kill me.

Anyone have any pedals kicking around? I'm looking for at least 2 sets, if not more...

How did you annoy your eggbeaters?

:-) I don't take the garbage out.

But seriously, the spring tension seems a little low, so when I'm getting crazy on the MTB I seem to pull out of my pedals at the most inopportune times. It seems on brand new pedals and cleats its not a problem, but after maybe 6 months of use the pedals turn to mush.

I think I've found what I'm looking for, but will post when I do for sure. Thanks everyone!

the Eggbeaters use brass cleats so wear at the interface with the pedals is practically all on the cleat rather than the steel pedal the logic being that cleats are expendable and cheaper than pedals but they do wear faster than steel cleats so you are experiencing normal performance. It does sound like pedals with adjustable release tension would be better for your style of riding because you can really set them for a very high release pressure.
