this cassette came as an incentive with a new wheelset i recently purchased. i use shimano so i do not need this cassette. i tried the cassette for less than 20 miles use and then mounted my a shimano cassette that came with a new grouppo. $65 shipped

Normally SRAM is compatible with Shimano. Did it not work?

i ended up purchasing a complete new shimano ultegra grouppo and on second thought figured i might as well just go ahead and mount the shimano cassette on the wheel. you are correct that sram is compatible with shimano.
