To all,

Simon Firth started his own company name Hanford Cycles, he made me and my wife a few bikes that are all beautiful. This is nothing more than a shameless plug for my friend.

Title says it all. He has had a lot of experience doing a wide range of frames and machining.

He also trained to fix Brooks saddles - what other framebuilder can say that ?

Saw Simon the other night in the shop... he was looking good and jazzed.... Might have to try one for the new year.

Does he have his own shop now, or is he still sharing space at Engin Cycles?

Simon finished my frame, here it is.

Highlights for me

1. Braze on under fork crown, makes fender installation so much easier.
2. New front dropout for Schmidt delux SL (no connector) hub
3. Paul Racer braze on, Simon insisted on them
4. Custom Stem soon: going to set it up with a normal stem first, then he can do the measurement.
5. Custom front rack with dual lights support.

Going to put it together first without paint, ride it for a few weeks, make changes if needed then the paint job. Had a few bikes made before always wanted to do it this way.

Hey Ron, give me a holler sometime if you're within city limits (Marina Green,Presidio et al ) on the bike, would love to see it in person.

I'd like to know this info as well. I get several people a year asking about Brooks so I'd like to be able to refer them somewhere.

Holy *****, is that Simon on the motoboard? That's awesome.

Simon is a great person, very, talented at his craft and is easy to work with. I know a few people who have his bikes, well made and he'll work with you. I'm saving my ducats for one myself.

You may also recognize him as the announcer for the Bilenky junkyard CX race.
