A local message board (that seems populated by anonymous negative people with axes to grind) has a thread going about bike trails. Lots of ranting and not much thinking.
Our region is a rural tourist friendly lake area in northwest Iowa that is way busier in the summer than the rest of the year. There is a trail system that is really nice for "slower-movers," and covers a significant part of the area. The drivers are pretty good through the winter and spring but it gets a little sketchy in the summer during the tourist season - both locals and visitors.
It's an open board so if anyone wants to jump in feel free. I doubt many of them will listen, but maybe hearing from several cyclists might make someone think? Just remember that if you get them too riled up we have to dodge them on the roads!
