A new policy in Maryland for those interested.
Bike accidents occur every year and responders (Police and EMT) need to get in touch with our next of kin/emergency contacts. In the past we have suggested using Road ID (http://www.roadid.com/) and carrying a cell phone programmed with emergency contact info. Many of us also carry our driver’s license in our jersey or saddlebag as another form of ID.
Maryland MVA has instituted a new program where you can sign up and provide a list of up to three emergency contacts on-line that will be linked to your driver's license number, and if you are in an accident or another type of emergency the information will be available when the Police enter your driver's license information into their database.? Go to: http://www.mva.maryland.gov/ to register
