Just stumbled across this. Pretty ornate with Columbus Spirit tubing.

Anyone ever hear of these?

Made in china, they doesnt look bad the problem is that i havent seen one built yet. Not the same to see a frame than see the frame built.

Google the maker. Strikes me as marketing crap. At that price point there are numerous stateside builders I'd patronize first.

just take a look at FastVegan's thread on the carbon mtn bike he got from over there... I'd be a little hesitant at best...

Thanks, I'm not even considering buying one but just wondered who they were.

Interesting, just when you think that everyone in the orient is building nothing but carbon, up pops a steel builder of all things.

Well if it was cheap as their carbon stuff sounds like a good deal but at their prices better just go local you know.

"over there" as in China? Quite a statement you just made there...

before anyone gets all in a tizzy... he bought a "no-name" carbon frame from overseas on the Bay that has some issues...

that's what I meant... these frames appear that they could be similar, just a different material... or they could be really nice, I'm just not willing to take that chance...

Those steel frames are well finished (they could have worked out the lugs more tho), the paint, brazing and polishing looks good but for 1500 bucks isnt better just go with a local builder?

They have not posted a single picture of how the frames look built for example. Thats bad because u really dont know what they are doing but at least in pictures looks ok.

I had 1500 bucks to spend in a frame i would be thinking in getting a de rosa, or a colnago used, that at least have more re sale value. Again, i dont denied the fact that those steel frames in pictures looks pretty nice.

I like the TIGer , fillet brazed frame.

The builts arent bad at all, paint good, lugs should have been worked out way better in my opinion. Riding impressions? unknonw, wonder if they will start filling up for what the europeans left to do years ago.

Theis stuff looks good :)

I think the company is in Taiwan, which is making better stuff than mainland China. Looks like the builder is trying to go upscale by using Columbus tubing and such like Japan/Lotus did 25 years ago. Looks like they are not just going for steel, but trying to compete with high end non-custom frames like Rivendell and Davidson. I think the TIGer is tig welded with smooth welds and thick paint. I agree though, the price point is a bit high for an unknown you can't see and hold.

yep, you can get a Rock Lobster, Waterford, etc., etc. for that price point... they may be beautifully made frames, just not a risk I'd take with some real feedback from someone who had one...
