Hi,

I have an older pair of Sidi Genius 3 road shoes in excellent condition.

These are the ones that require an adapter for the cleats, and I've had first-generation, two-bolt SPD road cleats attached.

But now I want to attach current SPD-SL, three-bolt cleats in the Look pattern.

But, even after a detailed Google search, I can't find the adapter. Or maybe I found it, but am not at all certain if the adapter will fit the Genius 3.

BTW, by hole-placement alone, the SPD-SL cleat will fit on the Genius 3 sole without an adapter. HOWEVER, the cleat does not lie flat that way, with some space between it and the sole.

So, any suggestions for making this work?

Thanks,

Dave, who thinks he'll really like the Shimano SPD-SL pedals and will probably be selling some new Dura-Ace and Ultegra first gen SPD pedals too

If that doesn't work, I have a coupla pairs as well

...and if someone decides to run Speedplay pedals/cleats on those shoes, I have several of those adaptors too

Bringing this back from the dead.

Picked up a pair of Genius 3's off here a couple weeks back. Went to install cleats and saw the the design requires either...modification to the sole or an insert.

Anyone here have any information as to what I could do?

I've read that you could shave some material off the sole to accommodate the SPD-SL cleat.

or..

Buy the proper adapter + proper length screws to adapt to SPD-SL

Any help will be appreciated ahha. Coming from Northwave...where everything just...worked.

do this.
your other options are hacks at best.

Right on!

Looks like I need the "look" style adapter plates.
