Hi, anybody knows if its "legal" to offer not bike related at the classified section?

Have some new in box stuff that might be useful for other members?

Thanks.

as far as I know, that's a big no-no...

that's a no-go, we went through this several months ago and the consensus was that the classifieds are only for cycling related gear.

...which is too bad IMO since many forum members have other cool stuff.

I understand not letting the CF's get inundated with non-cycling stuff, but (I can't believe I'm going to suggest this...eh Blujays? ;) ) how about a classifieds sub-forum for non cycling related gear?

Just suggesting...

Please read section 4 of the rules for posting in the classified section:

http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=78707

Thank you!

PS: the idea is we don't want the classifieds to turn into a Craigslist. I too have wanted to post non - cycling related items, but I use Craigslist or eBay instead. This just keeps our classified section "pure". Thanks for complying! But, I do like Williams suggestion and I will propose it to the other mods.

....another classified suggestion:

no posting ads without an asking price.

And another one:

No bumps without a 5% price reduction.

Start a chain letter by PM. Ask the first 2 guys to forward it to 2 others, and say their bikes will be subject to titanium and carbon fiber corrosion if they fail to comply. Pretty soon everyone will have the list.

PLEASE let's not try to circumvent the rules of the forum with a posting of something for sale here.

The classifieds are restricted to cycling related items at the request of our host and that is they way we plan to keep it for now.

There are plenty of other venues (eBay, Craig's List) to offer non-cycling related items for sale.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

PM'd on Speedster and film.

Is pricing firm, and can I get a deal if I buy it all?

I assume shipping is included on the Speedster? Is the barn included as well? And shipping on the barn?

What about a sub-forum for "Other" recreational and sports stuff? Maybe Espresso and fine Tequila related products as well. Ok, that last part was aimed at Dave T. hoping he would unload some Ancestra I know he smuggled in to the Country. ;)

Anyway, a thought.

I do. Super tasty, and I've even studded the cuts with plasticizer medallions.

I think that another sub-forum for non-cycling related items would be great. There are lots of people here I would happily purchase used stuff from. It's certainly more trustworthy than Ebay or Craigslist.

I think it would be great with caveats. Only peeps that have over a 'certain' # of posts could use it.

That would keep the riff-raff out.
Prob a headache for the mods though.

I like the idea... I would definitely buy lint from a forumite over a stranger (substitute lint for any object of value and you get the idea... a sub forum makes sense... lots of other sites do this requiring a certain number of posts and/or time on a forum...)

Ben - it is a great idea!!!
