Looks like I may be spending some time in the Knoxville, TN area for work soon. Question for any of you guys in that area. Will my SS MTB be the right tool for that area? Or will it take gears? Also, what are the road riding conditions like? Looks like I would be on the west side of Knoxville I believe. Thanks.

I run a single speed 29er here and really enyoy the trails. But, I do some hike a bike at Haw Ridge (http://web.eecs.utk.edu/~dunigan/fohr/).
Make a trip up north 65 to norris dam to ride to. Love it there
