Heard this earlier and it made me think quite a bit about some stuff I'm dealing with in my life... thought I'd share.

Jim Carrey, when asked about his personal motto said: "Always turn your wheel in the direction of the skid."

Old motto: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, except sometimes.

Delay is preferable to error...Thomas Jefferson

Once I visited Monticello last year and saw this, I knew it was it.

I would rather know it and not need it, then need it and not know it.

Variation...

I would rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Me.

"Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."

I've always loved this quote from Mark Twain:

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I don't think an "if, then, I am not sure" statement is a good motto. Thats the sort of empty line that seems profound but it lacks substance and doesn't actually say anything.

Common Sense is not so Common

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.
