One revelation this year is the aussie ride cum TT specialist Brad McGee. I am pleasantly surprised at how well he did in the high mountains, being able to keep up with the top guns. He has certainly "transformed" himself to be a possible future GC contender. What other thoughts you have? :p

McGee had a great TdS. And Rogers. And Chris Horner had a terrific tour. Fifth in today's stage and fifth overall coming off a bum leg. Third in Philadelphia. Looks like his form is peaking just in time for the TdF. Would be great to see Horner win a stage in France. :banana:

If you look at the pictures on cyclingnews.com you will see my other home. I know those roads well and the pictures of the Gotthardpass are well known. I used to drive that route every couple weeks when going from Zuerich to Lugano.

The Tour de Suisse is a great race.

doof may be naive, but doof thinks McGee is about as clean as a euro pro gets.... he had the good giro last year, and some isolated good climbing performances before that...some minor injuries...and a team that was content to let him be a prologue/tt specialist....

won't finish on the podium of a major tour, ever...but a solid rider

paris horner was the real surprise...has never, ever shown he could do that over a week and in those kinds of mountains...I'll have what he's having...makes you wonder what he could do if he teamed up with that other no hair big forehead big jaw weird skeletal changes guy, who is good at getting unheard of performances out of older riders....

After having their chamois handed to them for the entire spring season, it looks like Euskaltel-Euskadi is finally on track. with back to back victories in Dauphine Libere and The Tour of Switzerland it looks like they may finally climb out of the basement of the Pro Tour Rankings. Interestingly enough, they don't have Aitor Gonzales named for their Tour team at the moment, but I am skeptical that they would take a chance and leave that kind of form at home. I am expecting big things from this team in the Tour this year...
