View Full Version : anyone ever tried jeff jones' bars for touring/riding/commuting?

trying to find a more comfortable bar than drops with more positions (esp upright)...I'm not a road racer, but want something for all day commuting and long distance touring...(for my Riv Atlantis)...might use for a road bike IF they're as good as he contends they are.

seem interesting, esp his newer loop bars.

I had the [Titec version of the] H bars and loved the hand position, but found the set up for brakes and shifters a little complicated since the shifters need to go on the forward extension. It took up a little too much space on the extension so I never really put my hands there.

I ended up switching to On One Mary's since it was a little simpler with my current set up, and a little lighter. But I eye those loop bars all the time since the longer grip area solves the above dilemma -- you can get brake levers and shifters on the grip portion, and then the loop is free as an extra hand position.
