Decal Removal

Hello,

Just purchased an HSG. Got it home and decided to remove the decal from the seat tube. The corner was coming up anyway, so I started peeling without using a heat gun. In the process, I pulled away a pea-sized chip of clearcoat. Should this be possible? There was no clearcoat over the decals.

Get it touched up by an auto shop or an airbrush artist.

If this can happen with all other types of paint why would it not be possible with a bicycle?
