Many of you guys know that I just got back into the cycling world with the purchase of my Atlanta. Said Atlanta was sold to me as a 56cm. Once it arrived, it was a 54cm. I didn't know to check the serial number and when I did the seller said that they are not always correct, WTH!! Anyhow, lesson learned. Now I have a beautiful Atlanta that's too small. Last week I started looking around and found a nice CSI with Dura Ace. I just bought it, it's a 57, verified via serial number. It's in great shape and is being packed up as I type this. Here are some pics from the previous owner:

Overall it's in really good shape, a small clear coat issue on the top tube, a corroded rear skewer and some other minor issues that I used to bargain with. The pedals were not included but the computer was.
What do you guys think this CSI would be worth?? And no I am not planning on reselling it, just wondering how I did?
Hopefully it will arrive before the end of the week and then I can take her up to Montreal with me next Monday

ok i'll play.... $1200+ cost you around $1800 for a custom frame from a builder with this level of tubing. so this is a bargain. plus the drivetrain is free. doesn't hurt that it looks great either.

i think it is worth $1200-$1400 dollars. A ti legend with record 10 (alloy crank) went for 1400 hundred last night on ebay.

Nice stem.

Not really a market indicator, but this is what I paid for two different CSI's.

A few years ago I bought a 2001 CSI locally and paid $900 for the whole bike, but it was a little too large so I sold it on the forum. I parted it out, and wanted to pass along the deal I got by making sure the total didn't exceed the $900 I paid, plus I ate the shipping costs.

I found another 2002 CSI frame last year in the right size and bought it cheap, but the paint wasn't that great so I had it powder coated, bought a steel fork and coated it to match. I then pieced together a build over the winter and thought I was being frugal trying to get the best deals from different sources. However, even with buying the frame cheap, I'm up to about $2280 built up as it is (that's not including parts that were removed in trial and error either).

Well, I did alright, I got it for $1000 with free packing. I gave him $30 for the Paypal fees and will probably be paying $100 shipping. I need pedals now. I don't know that I care for the bars or stem. We'll see

good deal, 7700 is probably the best group ever. No nonsense, light weight, understated and reliable. Wish the STI was fixable. The clear ano gets a little weird sometimes and the plating on the chainrings just gets super messed up and flakes off.

Thanks guys, I am excited to have a nice Serotta in the corect size finally, let alone a CSI with DA. The only problem is the shop in Raleigh who packed the bike for me dragged it's feet a bit on getting it out the door and now I will be going out of town for work without it!! I leave for Monteal on Monday afternoon, the bike arrives Tuesday :crap: Pics and ride review next weekend I guess.
I am still bumming about selling the Atlanta, It's an awesome bike. If it truely were a 56cm, it wouldn't leave my side! I hope I can get my investment back out of it to help pay for the CSI though.

I need pedals now.

I think red keo classics might look proper on it...
