I took a break from my plumbing and other current woes to clear my head and get a quick ride in. I also decided at the end of my ride to cristen the uncompleted, official Rhode Island Ramble Cross Course on the back 40 of the William spread. So now, if any of the Ramble attendees want to get some cross action in you are all set. I'm putting up barriers to make passing tight and interesting. There are two sections where dismounting isn't absolutely necessary, but probably faster. :D

PS: I ran into Hans out on the road this weekend and we are getting together shortly to plan out the meal and other logistics.

Part of it off behind the barn.

That doesn't show the Olympic regulation sized Badminton court we put in for Rick and Kim at the past Ramble. ;)

What is the length of that course?

I remember building trails in the woods as a kid, yours look nicely bordered. We used to add in a lot of intersections so that you could turn a relatively small area into lots of riding possibilities. Not so good for racing though.

You should get a GoPro helmet or handlebar mount and show us how it flows!

I don't know the length off-hand. I just decided I was going to do it and went out and cut a path. I'm already thinking I may add on to it at some point when I have some time to kill. Helmet cam would be cool!

What a lovely "yard" you have. How did you create the dirt pathway?

Z-man!! Thar ride looks perfect for the Ramble!!

Ken: Basically I was getting ready to remove the plow blade from the Deere, then it hit me that I could use it to help make the path. Basically I scraped the path with the blade taking care to avoid tree roots and rocks. It did a good job and kept it smooth.

Fixed: Thanks! I love the old Effin Cross Bike!!

Angry: Looking forward to meeting and riding with you.

Climb-pal: Thanks man. Hope to see you here.

Beautiful on three counts - trails look great, Zanc is perhaps the best one I've seen, an leaning against an FJ62 to round out the trifecta!

I forgot that some folks w/big lots and long driveways in that part of the country often have snowplows. DOH!
