OK, I think someone mentioned this before, but I could not find it in a search. Having tried a lot of different saddles, I finally decided that this saddle is very comfortable for me, I have them on three bikes. However the dumb plastic/carbon bit under the nose can snag your shorts, not while you are riding but coming off at stop lights (actually I think it happened when I was sliding back on after being stopped at a light) this seems more a problem when I am deep into a ride and a bit tired, as I'm less conscious of how I'm sliding around the saddle.
I snagged and ripped a very old pair of bibs a few months back and thought maybe they were already snagged and it was just weird, but I just did it again with a pretty new pair of Castellis, and now I'm unwilling to ride my good bibs, which makes it an untenable issue.

So that plastic/carbon nose is held on by three small screws. I'm tempted to either:
A) remove the piece altogether and put the screws back in, but I'm worried that the leather cover will not be held in place and it will peel back.
B) Grind the "pinchey" part of the piece off and put it back on. This should work OK, but if they still don't work for me, I certainly will not likely be able to sell them easily with a "Franken repair" like that.
C) Just sell them, here or on ebay (these are pretty popular, I have to assume that someone has anatomy that works on this saddle without destroying all their bibs) and go back to the drawing board. Maybe the Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow which has a pretty similar profile, right?
Any ideas?
Thanks

I just started using the SLR version which does not have the plastic piece or at least I have not noticed it. Slightly more expensive but fairly close in design. Maybe try the SLR?
I would love to know why SI thinks they need to lay a big stitch right through sensitive areas on so many of their saddles these days too!
They need to get the message carbon doesn't save weight when it's a glued on unnecessary item.

I just pulled the plastic bits and the screws (weightweenies here I come), the leather seems to be glued well, and frankly they look fine (maybe an improvement) without the plastic bit. I don't think it served any purpose, anyone knows otherwise, please let me know (maybe someplace comfortable to rest your bike when you shoulder it). Hopefully I can avoid the investment and search for a comparable seat, though as these wear out, I may replace with Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow. Anyone have one they want to sell so I can test it out...PM me.

SLR version only comes in a 130 width, unless you are talking about the Superflow 145...which, to my understanding, does not yet exist in the US.
Do you have a Superflow 145 and if so, where did you get it from?
Thanks!

i was kinda wondering about that carbon flourish as well. tho i haven't had the problems you mention.
fyi, i tried the max flite and its fit is different from the prolink. i abandoned it after a couple rides, but the prolink remains.

I have ridden the Prolink saddle for many, many thousands of miles and never an issue with my bib shorts.
The Max Flite is a VERY different saddle. I too found it uncomfortable after trying it for a few rides.
As with all things saddles, YMMV...

I have the regular SLR 130 width. The superflow seemed like a very different saddle in that the cutaway is much larger. I found one on Glorycycles.com however it's pricey at $300. Found another on shinybikes.com however they only have the 130 & 140 width. I think they are getting $200ish.
It's back ordered but the link is below. Guessing this is the saddle you are referring to.

Shinybikes is much cheaper but wrong sizes

I have two of those. Great saddle.
I pulled the plastic piece off, stuck the screws back in and no problems with the leather peeling...
