I have a 92 Colorado LT and I was wondering how I could tell if I have a uniglide or a hyperglide cassette.

From the late Sheldon Brown:

edit: Damn, too slow on the Google search!

Thanks, that helped a lot.
If you decide that you want to get rid of any of that early style, drop me a PM.

So I won't be able to tell unless I take the cassette off? Or can I tell by the way the sprockets line up?

Uniglide doesn't have a splined lockring. The last cog is threaded, which holds everything in place.
Hyperglide has this:

Besides, the lockring says what it is, at least with hyperglide.
