Know this has been mentioned here numerous times.

Almost purchased a Delta Ticket where my bike would have been $40 more each way, than my ticket.

Frontier....Bikes fly free :)

Needless to say...this trip to Georgia...I'll be flying Frontier.

Wonder if it might be better to package up the bikes and send them via fedex or uPS. Would only do this with a very well packaged bike OR one of those hard side cases.

Frontier is free... ? As in no payment at all additional... ? Hard to believe. :hello:

Southwest is still $50.00 each way.

That's why I'm on Southwest for Copper Triangle this summer even though I am also a Silver Medallion flier on Delta.

I will NEVER fly Delta with a bike until their fees drop to the same levels as skiis, golf clubs, and other sports equipment.

No FedEx or UPS for my bike. Fork lifts are even harsher than some of the worst baggage handlers.

Though I will admit that one time, when traveling with a case of expensive, competition sport kites I arrived at my destination only to be paged by the Baggage Office to tell me that they found it lying on the tarmac at our connection point and it would be on the next plane in later that night. :crap:

Thankfully it arrived intact and we had traveled a few days early.

Frontier will not charge you for bikes on anything other than their economy fair. And on their economy fair $20 each way. Got off the phone with them for clarification 20 minutes ago.

I just plugged in what it cost to fly from sfo to denver. it was 25 bucks more to fly the classic fare vs. their economy fare. thats pretty good!
