There. That wasn't too hard to create.

That was a great example of how to lose a race more than anything else.

+1

Good on Gilbert, though; he's had a great Spring.

i have to wonder what andy schleck was thinking in those last few kilometers though... he basically towed gilbert to the line. did they really think frank could out sprint gilbert?

Strangest finish I've seen in a long time... 2 brothers, one rival, and no seeming plan at all...

Maybe they were hoping Gilbert would get a flat. :D

somehow i doubt that's how bjarne would have played it. the brothers schleck aren't exactly tearing it up on their own. that said, PG looks pretty unbeatable at the moment.

I have to guess that they could tell how much stronger he was. If one launched from the back, they probably knew that not only would he counter, but he would drop them both.

Good for Gilbert.

Then they still get second and third. I say go for it. You put enough pressure and something might happen. Who knows, maybe Gilbert's chain would have jumped.

well, the peloton was only 24" behind. Mess around too much, you get caught looking like a bunch of fools. Though to be fair, Gilbert did a good amount of towing, too.

are you implying that gilbert was not aware of this? it's not like he had any less to lose if they got caught. it honestly looked silly as the schleck bro's basically let gilbert dictate the finish.

he could care less b/c he's probably the best sprinter out 10 had he been caught.

Kudos to Gilbert.......yet still ranks among the few, boring-docile L-B-L.
Peloton couldn't close 20some seconds six-eight kilometers out and did the Schleck's even attend racing 101?

from cyclingnews here is what one of the bros said about the race

"We didn’t have to pull today. If we really wanted to Philippe to lose, we wouldn’t have pulled at all. But we wanted to win the race. That was very disappointing in Flanders and Roubaix, a lot of riders raced to make Fabian [Cancellara] lose. We didn’t want to do that. We raced to win it, and that's it."
cheers

They might postpone it b/c hockey went to overtime.

And there's 9 minutes on the clock in this basketball game, and only 12 minutes left in the hour...

Oh wait, there's a whole 'nother quarter. FML. :crap: :crap: :crap:
