Places to stay, heading south to Chattanooga TN

Need reccomedations on places to spend the night in Knoxville and Johnson City to break up the drive down and back from Washington DC. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

Going down south to do the Santana Tandem Rally in Chatanooga TN and staying on a River Boat.

I have had amazing bargains on NICE hotel rooms using Pricepoint's "Name Your Own Price" program: $50-75 for 3 and 4 star hotels in Wash. DC, Charlottesville, Bakersfield, etc.

I couldn't make any recommendations about Knoxville or JC, but anything in down town Chattanooga is pretty good. If you're feeling adventurous, you can stay in a converted rail car at the Choo-Choo, but the Riverboat is good too. Have fun!
