I've served in 2 theaters of war. Those guys are usually right in the middle of it. Totally committed...a little naive. For the readers out there, Not a Good Day to Die is probably the best correspondent book I have read. RIP

I was listening to the news on the way home tonight. He and another news photographer both died from rocket attacks in Lybia. I think they said that he had already done the same thing in Aghganistan, Darfur and other hot spot countries. Folks on FOX/CNN wanted to memorialize but were told that he was just out there doing his job and would not have wanted any publicity. Amazing...in this day when pro sports stars argue over millions, there are regular guys out ther risking their lives daily to bring us the news. RIP.

Very sad. Watched "The Devil Came on Horseback" last week and "Restrepo" some time ago. Was moved by both.

Amen...tragedy is not dying like he hid...tragedy is dying as a 40-60 something trapped in a job (that you have despised) and a lifetime of regret from things not done.
