Campy Khamsins. Under 200.
Are these good wheels? Stiff, and will hold up somewhat against poor urban boulevards?

under 500, you have lots of choices, as OP mentioned, a lower spec'd, but still good handbuilts are easily attained under 500. aside from that, the entire fulcrum range is excellent, both the 5's and 3's should be in you budget if you buy from the UK. same for campy sciroccos and zondas. both great wheels.

what are you using these for?

That will be bullet proof!!!!

I would say that this, or something close to this would be your best bet!

U can get this (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/miche-race-clincher-road-bike-wheelset/) for 200 bucks. Free shipping.

Ebay, wheel and sproket i believe have sets of formula hubs campagnolo laced to mavics like for 150 bucks.

CC sadly sold out all the easton ea50 campagnolo wheelsets for 160 i believe.

Good luck

There is the key element that leads you to a hand-built wheel set. Repairs done to a hand-built are extremely cost-effective and this is not usually the case with pre-builts.

Either pre-built or hand-builts will be equally stiff, that's a given with a well built wheel.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I forgot about hand-built, and will look into that option.

Per Angry Scientist: I plan to use the wheels for training and distance riding.

What about Fulcrum 7s? I recently rode a set and they are very nice for the price, not light, but ride great. And they can be purchased for $200 from wiggle:

I have been riding a pair of these for about a year now. Seem to be be bomb proof.

the "likes" in handling, weight, and life of rim, wheel, and hub might put a bigger smile on your face. Just focusing on price it difficult. On the classified you should be able to get an excellent used set for between 400 and 500. also (not carbon nor aero, unless they are well used. :bike: ) PETE
