View Full Version : Head tube STI cable adjuster/stops

What kind and where can I find head tube cable adjusters that are threadless and work this? I have some that will work but they are fugly and bulky.

I don't know if they fit - looks like they do - but if I were you I'd certainly ask Dave Kirk about those:

It think I have an extra set of the exact barrel adjuster and nut that come with that frame. A had a few extras when I had a Merlin. Let me go check...........

Thanks but those are for threaded, I have a couple of those.

It think I have an extra set of the exact barrel adjuster and nut that come with that frame. A had a few extras when I had a Merlin. Let me go check...........

Also....the barrel adjusters for that frame aren't threadless (even though I know it looks that way). They are actually a smaller diameter (than the hole) threaded adjuster with a small spring and nut. The spring provides tension so the adjuster doesn't randomly rotate and the nut is held in place by the flat section of the boss closest to the headtube.

Cheating!?! A guy my age, just say sharing my overabundance of the love. ;)
Actually I want to compare the ride, the Seven is superb but a tad tall so I want to see how the Merlin rides and see how much standover height it leaves me. Both have the same TT length.

You dont need that to be threaded. Look, maybe a cable stop fits in there, then u put a inline thingy to fix the cable tension.

Jagwire has some cable adjusters that arent threaded, those should fit in there also.
